Happy Travel Tuesday Folks!
I'm super excited for this month's link up and to see where in the world you have been!
Add your link at the bottom of the post and let's adventure together!
This month I am throwing it back with a tribute to our sweet travel trailer, Florida ReVa, and all the great adventures she brought us during the two years that we had her. It was a bittersweet day when we traded her in for our new home-on-wheels, but we needed something a bit roomier for full-time RV living. Here's a little taste of our life with our very first traveling home...
How She Got Her Name
When we got her, we knew that she was going to be our little weekend warrior to take us on explorations of all the parts of Florida we had yet to visit. So, I wanted something with some Florida flavor in her name, hence FloRida (Flo-ride-a)! Unbeknownst to me, there was already a rapper with the same name (and here I thought I was being so creative). Though I do love "Boots with the Fur", I suck a artist names, so I had no idea there was a correlation in the two. Thankfully it came in handy once Babe enlightened me and it spurred on the idea for her theme song (which can be seen in the video). Though I didn't mind Flo being associated with rapping, I also knew that she had a little bit of a country side to her and so her last name was brought to life... ReVa (like Reba McEntire, but for an RV). It was perfectly fitting; Flo was definitely a little bit country, a little bit rap, and a whole lot of rock-n-ROLL!
5 of Her Favorite Adventures
Fort DeSoto- Her first official Florida outing was a smashing success! A beautiful waterfront site, a ferry ride over to a gorgeous, uninhabited island, and a canoe ride on the intercostal! It was the perfect way to kick off all of our Florida travels.
Rainbow Springs State Park- We LOVED Rainbow Springs in so many ways! Staying at the campground was the perfect was to check out the springs and tube the day away.
RVing with the nieces- Flo loved her trip with the girls! She opened them up to the world of RV adventures and they were hooked from the first minute.
Her Swim with the Sea Cows- So she lived this moment vicariously through us, but she did love her little waterfront spot and waving goodbye to us as we rode by in a pontoon boat that could be rented through the RV park. She definitely LOVED Crystal River!
Florida Boondocking Fun- Flo had been itching to boondock, but being in Florida (without a generator) there is only a small window of time that you can camp without hookups. So, when the weather finally cooled down enough we all rolled out to the middle of nowhere and enjoyed quiet mornings and almost free camping!
We will miss our sweet little camper, but we are excited for the new adventures to come with Delilah (who will get her own introductory post very soon! Thanks Flo, for all the sweet memories and Florida adventures! We hope you enjoy life on the road with another new family very soon and maybe we will even see you out there somewhere.

That's such a fun name for a Florida-based RV! It sounds like you had many awesome adventures with her
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks!! Yes, we had some great adventures with her :)
DeleteIt looks like you've been on some pretty amazing adventures with her and made some amazing memories.
ReplyDeleteWe really did :)
DeleteOh, so sad! It's funny how we get attached to things that are associated with great memories! Hopefully more great memories are to come!
ReplyDeleteRight?! We were so attached and now so grateful for all the awesome memories with her!
DeleteWow...you had many adventure in that RV. I know it will be little disappointing to sell the camper. All the best for your future journeys.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, it was definitely bittersweet, but we are excited to make even more memories in the new one.
DeleteWe were just thinking about renting an RV next summer to adventure in!!
ReplyDeleteDO IT!! You will LOVE it!
DeleteFull-time RV living?! You're so wild! My in-laws were just discussing buying one for traveling around and vacationing....I'd definitely have to borrow it if they did!
ReplyDeleteYes, you definitely need to borrow it if they do! Fair warning though, you might get hooked and end up hearing yourself considering the full-time life haha
DeleteI'm surprised you lasted in her for 2 years! Hubby and I are looking at 30ft+ due to our family and pets lol.
ReplyDeleteHaha, she was just the perfect size for weekend adventures. We didn't really spend much time inside (if we were awake we were sitting outside unless it was raining). For full-time though we definitely needed something bigger. Our new one is 34ft and it is perfect size for what we need :)
DeleteIt looks like you had fun with it and it served you well! The new one will surely help you make some great new memories!
ReplyDeleteYes it did :) And we are definitely excited for the new memory making we have ahead!
DeleteIt looks and sounds like you've had some pretty awesome adventures with Flo! I'd love to be able to live in an RV and travel around. Maybe someday I will! I can't wait to meet your new ride!
ReplyDeleteYes, maybe someday! It comes with it's own set of life challenges, but it is the best!! We can't wait to fully live it! And thanks :) We can't wait to give everyone the tour!
DeleteI think my latest article would be a great fit for this! http://buddhabellyweb.com/2017/11/17/visit-picturesque-cedarburg-wi/

ReplyDeleteAww love the story behind her name! Definitely looks like a lot of fun memories and great adventures with her. Makes me kinda wanna invest in a trailer too so I can experience all these amazing campsite adventures you did!
ReplyDeleteThe use of ConnectSmart for transportation to the mana tour houston is revolutionary. You may use it to identify the best routes, negotiate traffic, and avoid delays. You will never have to worry about getting to the Mana concert on time again with this handy gadget. Plus, it's ideal for individuals who aren't familiar with the hectic streets of Houston!
