I'm beginning to sound like a broken record...
yet again, here we are two months later and finally a new blog post.
Hey y'all! Thanks for sticking around! I am wanting so badly to get back to this space, but time has just been flying and days so crazy and this keeps taking the backseat. So I'm trying again, again, and kicking it off with my favorite monthly linkup. Here's what life looks like around here currently:
{Hearing} My current book club's pick of the month on Audible, The Giver of Stars by JoJo Moyes. Has anyone read it/listened; thoughts?! I'm a few chapters in and thinking this may be one I need to physically read, because I am having a tough time with the audio.
{Borrowing} Books from the lady we are currently renting a condo from. I had read A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman a few years ago and ended up really enjoying it. I saw she had most of his other books and picked up one to read and then proceeded to read them all. Fredrik Backman's books are all so real that I leave each one feeling like I have walked through someones life in the rawest of ways. They take a little bit to get into, but the characters become so alive that you want to find out the end of their story. Usually I don't like books with hard, realistic endings but he writes in such a way that even though everything isn't pretty and tidy there's a good deal of hope for what may be to come. To me that's pretty much how we have to walk through life and I like feeling like the characters in his books understand that. You can see my full review over on YouTube or enter my Us Against You giveaway over on IG!
{Feeling} A little unsure of our next chapter in life. We went from the road to the wine bar so quickly and now that the wine bar is finally open we are trying to figure out what's next. Settle down here in NSB, move back to our home in Orlando, find somewhere else to call home or possibly find a route that might get us back on the road? I haven't felt like myself in a while and trying to get back to that person or figure out who this updated version of me is has been a bit frustrating to say the least, but things are starting to balance out and I am hopeful that we will get a clear feeling of which direction to go next!
{Recommending} My recent Amazon Favorites starting with the bathing suit pictured above, because it is the most flattering thing and has the cutest back {I have been all about the cute backs lately}!
Black One Piece- Currently $28 \\ This is my favorite Amazon bathing suit purchase to date; between the tummy control and cute back detail it is so flattering (size up)- be sure to check back on this to see if it goes on sale again (I originally got it for $10)
Maxi Dress- $23.99 \\ I am not a dress girl, but trying to up my fashion game now that I work at aa wine bar; this is perfect start for people who don't like dresses. Cozy fabric, pockets and cute back detail! (size down)
Animal Print Top- Price varies by size \\ I needed a fun staple for colder weather, this is light and does trick (true to size)
Two Piece Suit- $16.99 + current 10% off coupon \\ Trying to stock up for summer and our anniversary cruise and I love the one shoulder (size up because bottoms are snug)
And that's it for me this month, but I have BIG GOALS to get at least one more post up between now and the end of the month (lofty, I know); here's to hoping!
What does your world look like currently?
That black one piece is stunning, now all I have to do is book an holiday on the beach
ReplyDeleteHope you get to do so soon! It's truly the perfect suit!
DeleteI love shopping on Amazon! You can find the best stuff there. Heck, I just ordered stuff there today. I'll have to check all of this out.
ReplyDeleteMy only issue is not getting sucked too far down the rabbit hole!
DeleteI love shopping on Amazon, the problem is that my husband loves it too. We get a box a day lol
ReplyDeleteHaha, it can be a bit of a problem for us too!
DeleteOoh yes super cute bathing suit! Love that high neckline and it looks great on you. The Giver of Stars is actually on my list of books to read this month because I have had it on my shelf for ages and need to finally get around to it. Curious how it is! And I hope you are able to settle in to that sense of self - I've been feeling a bit torn about that lately too, but know that once you find it, the rest of life's decisions will fall in place from there :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is my favorite find in a long time. And The Giver of Stars has taken me a bit to get into, but mostly I think it's because the accent in the audio version was throwing me off. Now that I am more used to it I am really enjoying it and I think I would have been sucked in pretty quickly if I had done the physical book. And thank you, best of luck with things settling in for you too!
DeleteI love dresses:) That maxi looks perfect - and almost time to wear it again! I really like the animal print too. Thx for sharing/recommending some favorites:)
ReplyDeleteYes, we are warming up rather quickly here in FL so I am wearing it already.
DeleteI would love to hear about group travel! My daughter did one to Costa Rica last year and we are set to go to Japan in a group in 2021. I've been looking at group tours to go to Costa Rica (for myself) and Iceland, but I'm weary and I have no idea why. Maybe just nervousness.
ReplyDeleteI will be posting that soon! Ours was very guided and scheduled. It wasn't the group part so much, but the rush of the pace that wasn't a great fit for me. I would just make sure you ask tons of questions about how they structure the trips and the time and how much freedom you have to actually explore the sights you are seeing.
DeleteI would love to hear about the tour group experience. I have never done this, and think about it as an option once we are empty nesters. Love the swimsuit, and you can't beat $9.99. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hope to have the post up soon! It's a great option if you love traveling with others, just check to make sure the schedule, pacing and structure of what you are seeing fits well with your travel style. I loved the people aspect, but the rush and the rigorous schedule were tough for me.
