Big Announcement for First Friday Favorites with a Huge First

Expecting our newest adventure for a HUGE First Friday Favorites!

We're headed out on our annual Aunt Mel and Uncle Andrew adventure with three of our nieces and nephews this year, and it will be the last semi-normal year, because we have a pretty big announcement and will have a special addition to our trip come next summer... WE'RE EXPECTING! I alluded to life being crazy in some good ways in last month's Favorites Link Up, and well that's the big announcement and a huge first for us. After 18 years of loving Aunt and Uncle life we are pregnant with our first. 

FAVORITE MOMENT: Telling My Parents We're Pregnant 

I'm pretty sure my mom thought this moment would never come. To be honest we weren't sure it would either. After originally thinking I wanted 7 kids, and then making a big turn and contemplating just living the doting Aunt and Uncle journey for, she had stopped asking if we were going to have kids. Babe and I have been together for almost 20 years and married for 10, so needless to say it was quite the surprise for my parents. Their different reactions couldn't be more telling of their personalities and I love it! I also hope this sweet baby gets a good little mix of both of them; my dad's quite steadiness, and my mom's exuberance.

Favorite Amazon Find of the Month

Vegobears! I have gone down the "what's in my food" rabbit hole now that I am pregnant and am doing my best to avoid red dyes and artificial flavors. One, why is there dye in literally everything?! But I had gotten a small pack of Vegobears on an airplane I think and finally opened them maybe a month ago and I LOVED them! I have tried other natural or organic gummy bears and Vegobears FAR surpass any others for me. The texture is closest to Haribo when they are slightly stale, which I know sounds crazy but that's just the way I like them. 

I looked EVERYWHERE for them and couldn't find them in any stores. But you can get a three pack from Amazon. They are a bit expensive in my opinion, but I like them for when we do popcorn, which is at least twice a week.

Favorite Finds for Pregnancy Nose

My other two top purchases go to my humidifier and my breathing strips! They have been helping me survive pregnancy. I have had what feels like a wad of cotton sitting in the left side of my face for over a month (basically since starting the second trimester). It's not congestion really, more so inflammation, but it's painful and very irritating.I got a personal size humidifier for under $20, but my mom had a larger Vicks one when I visited her that I really liked so I may grab that to keep permanently in the bedroom and then use the smaller one in the office so I don't have to keep carrying it back and forth. If anyone has any other holistic treatment options that will help with nasal inflammation and nosebleeds (yep, that's something new too) please share!! I really thought I would be one of those people that just LOVED pregnancy and so far, while I don't hate it, love is definitely not the word I would use. 

I know I usually share a favorite quote and a favorite read, but the kids are starting to demand help from the back of the car and honestly I haven't read anything I would really recommend this month. We've been listening to some books recommended by our midwife but it's more to get through our homework, though I have definitely heard some VERY interesting things... get ready, I guess!!
